Study Of Social Ecology

Study of Social Ecology is an Interim unit for the Foundation Year students of the Undergraduate Professional Program. Here students travel to different places and immerse in a variety of contexts to study the nature of the community and their practices, socio-political, cultural, historical and economic systems of the place. The exposure to context through appropriating art and design exercises, creative thinking tools and research methods builds an ability to define a line of enquiry. With this unit ‘unlearning’ takes another dimension. What is gained through the process is an understanding of knowledge building around a context to develop creative practice outside the purview of classroom learning.
