Film graduates receive critical acclaim

Tahireh Lal and Julian Krubasik for best cinematography for Bharati
Barahni's "TumseMilke" at Cut.in Film Festival, Mumbai 2009

The Festival was organised by the Centre for Media & Cultural Studies at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai in February, 2009.Bharati Barahni’s “ Tumse Milke “ has its concepts originate from her childhood tryst with Bollywood.
Films have always depicted a grandeur canvas, moreso Bollywood films – their larger than life images and their never say die happy endings as one traverses through the realms of fantasy.
The film looks to Bollywood with all its ingredients for a thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining happy
experience.
" Tumse Milke " received good appreciation when it screened at " Bring your Own Film Fest " at Puri in February 2009.

Tahireh Lal's " Ta " selected and screened at Videonale e.V. im Kunstmuseum Bonn

Tahireh Lal was born in New Delhi, India in 1986 and currently lives and works in Bangalore, India. This is her first major public exhibition since graduating from Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology.
While in college, the artist explored different areas of art and design before deciding to specialise in film. Her work stems from an interest in her own diverse heritage and family history.
Tahireh’s most recent work, These Old Frames, uses digitized 8mm home movies to paint a portrait of her grandfather.
The piece being exhibited, Ta, is a self similar visual exploration of meditation. The practice of Yoga Nidhra (a meditation of deep sleep) is rooted in Tahireh’s family’s cultural traditions.
