We all know that good design is much more than generating that fantastic flashing-light-bulb-of-an-idea that woos a panel of judges and wins the "Design of the Year" award! To enable innovative ideas reach fruition and operate in a real context, Innovation from Real People was set up at Srishti in collaboration with the National Innovation Foundation - a technology-driven government organization, under the Department of Science & Technology, dedicated to grassroots innovation and headed by Sudipto Dasgupta.
Innovation from Real People gave students nine weeks during which they were exposed to key areas of field research, material and technical Research, prototyping techniques, manufacturing processes and micro-innovations. Each project involved creating a printed book, a poster and a short video clip to describe the design and its functionality. More>>
