ID Catalyst was a two-day collaborative, intense workshop for South Asian Design Professionals December 16-17, 2004. The workshop was sponsored/organised by Titan Industries Ltd. and Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology, Bangalore, India.
ID Catalyst 2004 was conceptualized as a focused forum that combined formal and informal spaces with intimate and group interactions, to facilitate active engagement of Industrial Design professionals of the South Asian region, with contemporary theory and emerging practices that are globally competitive and locally appropriate.
The workshop was designed so that real learning was fostered and participants could develop a new perspective of work and practice, as well as the future of Industrial Design.
Participation was limited to 40 persons and came from practitioners, managers, researchers and faculty of Industrial Design from India and the South Asian region.
The facilitators were Uday Dandavate of Sonic Rim, San Francisco and a team from Design Continuum, Boston, USA, which included Gianfranco Zaccai, CEO and President, Harry West, VP of Design Strategy, Thomas Burchard, Brand Experience, and Daniel Buchner, VP Innovation and Design.
