The Srishti Entrance and Aptitude Test (SEAT), both Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels, assesses the candidate’s abilities in one or more of the categories described below.

Contextual Awareness

Ability to reflect on environmental, social, political, economic and cultural factors; and their implications on art and design.

Observation and Curiosity

Ability to observe, explore and enquire; lay emphasis on details and use multiple ways of seeing.

Analytical Reasoning

Ability to review information and be able to analyze, reason, infer and predict.

Imagination and Visualization

Ability to imagine, visualize and represent an idea, using any of the given medium.

Language and Expression

Ability to comprehend, articulate and express in English.

Critical Thinking

Ability to analyze, formulate and express a position or point of view, for a given context.

Domain Literacy

Awareness and a basic understanding of capabilities pertinent to the chosen domains of study.


SEAT, at both the Undergraduate and Postgraduate level, and also each individual component of SEAT (described in the protocols) consist of items which include visual and verbal responses, written and practical exercises, using a range and variety of mediums and media that are appropriate to each level and context.
Please note that the format and nature of questions in the tests have changed from the year 2017.
